Description

There are many different types of wounds and many causes of wounds; there are trauma wounds from an accident, foot ulcers caused by diabetes and bedsores or pressure ulcers caused by pressure on the skin of a debilitated person, to name just a few.

Although wound healing is a complex and dynamic process, no matter what type of wound you have, the healing process is the same. Health care professionals have developed what is known as “best practice guidelines” which encompasses a) reviewing all the evidence available b) establish the individual risk factors for the patient and c) implement the skills and resources to achieve healing of the wound.
